VEM FALAR PORTUGUÊS DE MALACA
Foi organizado e realizado no dia 19 de Dezembro de 2010 o primeiro concurso “Beng Papia Portugues di Malaca” ou “Vem falar Português de Malaca”. Este concurso foi patrocinado por pessoas individuais interessadas na preservação da língua materna.
Regras:
Os participantes tiveram de escolher e ler um poema em Português de Malaca e coreografar a sua própria apresentação utilizando a imaginação através de roupas, objectos, desenhos, etc.
Todos os poemas estiveram relacionados com a cultura do Bairro Português de Malaca.
O Concurso teve dois (2) níveis:
Recital para Crianças – aberto a todos os luso-descendentes de Malaca com idades compreendidas entre os 5 e os 12 anos.
Recital para Adolescentes - aberto a todos os luso-descendentes de Malaca com idades compreendidas entre 13 e os 20 anos.
Os vencedores foram escolhidos por um grupo de Juris.

COME SPEAK MALACCA PORTUGUESE
The first ever contest “Beng Papia Portugues Di Malacca or “Come Speak Papia Portuguese Malacca, sponsored by individuals interested in promoting our Papia Portuguese Malacca, was held on the 19th December 2010.
The following rules were set for this contest.
· All participants must choose and read a poem in Papia Portuguese Malacca.
· Participants must use their own imagination to choreograph their poems.
· Special clothing, objects and drawing can be sued during the presentation.
· All poems must be related to the culture of the Portuguese descendants of Malacca.
This contest is split into 2 categories and opened to all the young Portuguese descendants of Malacca.
Category A. – Children aged between 5 and 12 years old.
Category B. – Teenagers aged between 13 and 20 years old.
Winners will be chosen by Judges.
1. Cash prizes will be given away to the winners.
Children’s category:
1st prize - RM 300.00
2nd prize - RM 200.00
3rd prize - RM 100.00

2. A Challenge Trophy – this trophy is dedicated in memory of the Late Mr. Gerard Aloysius Fernandis. It will be shared by the 1st prize winner in category A and B and their names will be engraved on the trophy. This trophy will eventually be displayed in our museum at the Portuguese Settlement.
